Your chapter site uses Super Carousel for the home page carousel. This WordPress plugin has been optimized with custom layout and style overrides for homepage use. This means that some features have been disabled and certain elements and styles have been made uniform to support the ASMP brand.


Super Carousel is designed to have collections of images that can be used in one or more carousels.


That means that we must:


  1. First, create an image collection
  2. Second create a carousel
  3. Finally, we'll set the desired carousel



Step One: Create an Image Collection


Hover on Super Carousel which is located on the left menu in your Dashboard


Then click on Images in the menu that appears





Then click the Add New button in the upper right corner






Next enter a carousel images title, something like “Front Page Images” or "Home Slider images"


Then click the Add Images button located just below the title you just created





Select or upload the images that you'll be using for your homepage slider


You can also click the Expand toggle to edit image captions (great for adding citations and attribution)





Finally, click Save after you've selected all your images and added your desired captions





Congratulations, step one is now complete!



Step Two: Create Your Carousel


Okay, let's build that carousel!!


Click on Super Carousel in the left menu


Then click Add New


This will open a new screen. 


Next, enter a carousel title like “Front Page Carousel” or "Home Page Slider" in the area shown in the image below.





Now you'll set the Super Image dropdown to desired images collection (you just created in step one)




Next, set under the Element – Image section, select Full from the list of itmes in the Image Size drop down (as shown in the image below). 


NOTE: This is an extremely important step as failure to do so will result in a poor quality of images in your Carousel.



All other settings are overridden by the system and and can be ignored.


Click Save


Step Two is complete!


Final Step: Set Your Carousel


First, hover over appearance and select customize from the sub-menu that appears




Select Carousels





Select your front page carousel from the drop down.



Click Save & Publish
